Lightweight Streetbike - Honda Rebel 500

They should have made a new "track only" category for the BMW. The R1 should have been classified as "superbike" and the Tuono as "Open-class streetbike"

That would reflect 2016. As a 2016 TuonoRR owner, I could be biased though.

Did they even consider other track only bikes like Aprilia's pneumatic valve RSV4 R FW-GP?

  KTM 690 Enduro/SM + VFR800 + Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR
I am also biased, but agree those categories could use work.

The Honda CB1100 is a Standard. Even the BMW R9T is a Standard. But calling the Tuono a Standard would be like me taking the lowers off my CBR600F4 and calling it a Standard. Nope, it's just a Sport Bike without all the plastic.

What did they put the Rebel up against? Surely not a TU250, Grom, Ninja 300, CBR 300, R3, Duke 390, etc., etc. That's a packed field lately. The Rebel's looks have come a long way, but any of the sporty small displacement bikes wins in my mind.

Personally I find the new Rebel looks horrible. Like some funky combination of cruiser and standard.

Exactly. I'd take CB500X or F, or CB300F over it anytime.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense at all. The Road King hardly classifies as a Tourer, and no way is it a better Touring bike than the Ultra Glide, or the Goldwing, or Yamaha's new Venture.

Agreed! Let not forget RC213 with $185K price tag, R1M, KTM RC8 track.
