I bet that is a LOT of cash...
I am itching to go ride one of these. Pretty nice looking and not terribly expensive.

I would expect them to be "mildly" exciting...I read an article the other day about how the bottom has dropped out of the sales of those bikes...the Royal Enfield crowd stills prefers their smaller bikes...hopefully they will be able to keep them in their line up...

Never was a fan of played out, let's cafe everything hipster fad, but that looks damn good on a bike as large as that HD.

If you put some real handlebars on there like a proper naked bike, then it looks like a hoot to me.

I admit the first thing I look at in these style-conscious factory confections is how they disguised the 2-into-1-into-2 as a 2-into-2...

If Harley shipped something like that instead of their pathetic attempts at street rods and fighters, they may have a chance to survive. I would definitely check it out.

If the wheelbase was shortened by about a foot it may actually have some handling ability.

Gotta say, id ride it, propper forks, radial mount breaks, appears to have an actual rear shock, could be fun, at least its going the right direction imo.

i remember putting clubman bars on my 76 kz400 and the other dudes having them on the kz650. everyone put Kerkers on Kawasakis. That was a cafe bike. What we really, really wanted, but that was beyond our wildest dreams, were the bikes that have become ubiquitous now, and almost out of fashion. If we could have seen something like an R6 or a Panigale Duc back in the 70's? Holishit we'da freaked out. We did NOT want the bikes we had. we wanted something BETTER. Now we all have bikes that are beyond amazing and we dont even notice. anyone remember messing with POINTS? fek.

that said, there WERE some amazing bikes. I never had one of these, but I wanted one in the worst way.

For a 40+ year old bike, I think it looks pretty good. From what I read about them they weren't very well liked initially but there were some common modifications (and no, I don't know what they were) that really improved them.

My Harley has a similar background to the OP photo in that it was not made by the company but was part of a small custom batch made by a dealer back in 92-93. Lawwill and Storz also made unique customs for sale. Buell was probably the most successful application of Harley materials combined with their own to make a popular motorcycle(s). Harley makes a lot of styles that cater to specific clientele. I like the fact that there are independent shops that use, modify, and add to Harley components to fit other unique customer desires.

So, diss H-D in any form or format if you must but I think that custom cafe application looks pretty damn good.
