9/28/16 Wednesday Westside Ride leaves at 5 - NEW LOCATION

Since the new time and location seemed to work out last week...we're doing it again!

As with last week, in order to take advantage of the remaining daylight we are leaving at 5:00 p.m. so we can journey beyond Skyline. We are also moving the ride meeting location to avoid traffic at Skyline and Burnside.

We will meet at Cornell and Skyline (the paved parking lot diagonally across from Skyline Restaurant) at 4:45 p.m. with kickstands up at 5:00 p.m. Show up with enough gas to cover about 30 miles or so before the first gas stop.

This is a faster-paced ride but nobody will be left behind. Sorry no beginners on this ride, must be an intermediate rider or above. The ride goes until dark and we will end the ride at a place that serves food and beverages.

Christopher and I will continue to post Wednesday rides as weather and daylight permit until the time change. Ride location and departure time are subject to change each week.

Hope to see you and ride with you!

Does that mean we'll be seeing you at 5? Wish I could make 3. So freaking nice out.

The Husky got more of a flogging than ever with all those straight stretches! Some interesting moments for sure - makes me wish I had brought the Contour
Thanks guys! Great to meet you all.

Thanks guys! Great to meet you all.

I know from experience that the straights are the only place i can beat you and that 701. Lol
I want to try and make one of these rides before the time change.
Would be a good opportunity to use my new go pro session.

Side note
Been practicing my wheelies. Don't know if wheeling a 500 lbs sport bike is for me.

Actually guess I won't be making any of these rides. Thought it was the Seattle Wednesday ride.

lol yeah the sumo's are pretty amazing in the corners. It's still surprising me with how fast it actually is in the twisties.

The more wheelies you do, the more natural it will feel. But, I hear ya - some of the fastest/best riders I know don't wheelie. So it's not a *requirement* to ride well. But for me, it's pretty much the main reason I ride haha If I suddenly couldn't do any wheelies, I'd just say fuck it & buy an Ariel Atom.

I just recently read through "Banned from the Ridge" from the old site.

Was that a permanent thing? Haven't seen any long threads like that one on this site.

I wondered when someone was going to pick at that scab

Not permanent - "for the season" - the rule did change though after that thread. Goal accomplished.

Yeah. I should take up drag racing. Love going fast. Like the twistit's but get scared when I feel the pegs scrape. Terrified of wheelies lol. But going obscenely fast doing things that give all bikers a bad name, "Weaving" that's why I ride lol.
150+mph freeway race.... no problem. I try not to do it as much now though. It can be hard to resist the urge tho
But scraping my pegs and doing wheelies scares me. What's up with that?

I've also only been riding for about 2 years. So I'm pretty new at this in the grand scheme.
Had a guy try to race me on Tuesday in shorts and a tee shirt. I shook my head and did a houdini on him.
Why someone would think a 90s ninja 500 is any match for an fz1 is beyond me
