Wednesday Westside Standing Ride 2020 (June-Sept)

The Wednesday the Westside Standing Ride is back! Starting Wednesday, June 24, 2020 and running EVERY Wednesday through September there will be a group ride on the Westside.

The official start to this ride was delayed this year due to COVID-19 but is official now that Multnomah County is in Phase 1. Please respect others' right to maintain social distancing and keep 6 feet apart, especially in the corners!

Details:

Where: Sylvan/26 Chevron at 1850 SW Skyline Blvd, Portland - park along the yellow striped area next to the adjacent parking lot - please do not block access to the parking lot. Please do not occupy the handicap parking space or adjacent striped area.

When: Wednesdays meet @ 5:30, kick stands up @ 6.

Who: Intermediate riders and above - sorry no beginners.

Pace: Moderate to fast, fast in the corners slow in the straights, nobody left behind.

Route: Westside route TBD by leader depending upon group and the ride usually runs until dark and ends with dinner and beverages (subject to COVID-19 restrictions).

There will be a designated sweep rider on every ride, but it is your responsibility to ride safe. Ride your own ride. Optional safety gear is encouraged but not required. Should you choose to leave the ride for any reason you must check out with the sweep or one of the ride leaders.

Ride Leaders:

Christopher Slater (caslaw) (Orange KTM 1290 S)
Brian Edwards (motorooster) (Black Tuono)
Glenn Hofman (Black MT-10)

At least one, if not all, of the ride leaders will be present each week.

Riders who have riding experience and are interested in improving their cornering skills are encouraged to come out and participate as weekly riders. Weekly riders have historically shown significant improvement over the course of the season. You don't have to already be fast to come on this ride, but if you don't like going fast this ride is probably not for you. We have several fast regulars in this group so be sure to ride your own ride and wave faster riders past you instead of trying to stay ahead in the straights (and you should expect the same courtesy).

So if it's Wednesday come on out and join the Westsiders! :ninja:
