2020 Bol d'Oregon - save the date!

My clubmate Steve is organizing next year's Bol d'Oregon six-hour endurance race. Posting his note below ... any questions please PM or respond on this thread, and I'll get you in touch with Steve.

---------------------------------------------

The 2020 Sang Froid Riding Club Bol d’Oregon is fast approaching, in fact, we are exactly 6 months out!

You know,

The Super Fun 6-hour endurance race on that twisty little go-kart track in McMinnville!

We have a date!...Sunday June 7th 2020...Save it!

What are the Classes this year??

Glad you asked;

Vintage. Up to 550cc, 2 cylinders or less up to 650cc and 1985 or older. Any bike within those limits!
Modern. Up to 250cc, any year. Any bike within those limits!
Fly weight. Up to 185cc, any year. Any bike within those limits!
I am writing because I will be organizing the race this summer. I'm super excited! I've been on 4 teams over years and it’s always one of the best moto-days of the year.

Planning and prepping the bike, spending time wrenching with buddies, preparing strategy for race day…so much fun! And, it's an easy and relatively cheap way to try out road racing!

Stay Tuned for more info on sign-ups, cost and further details,

My complete contact info is below, please don't hesitate to reach out with questions,

That all black Grom crashed so hard in front of me last year into turn 1 CCW.

Your Grom must be in a decent state of tune, we only had a tiny bit of of acceleration over you on an XR250.

Yeah that was me. My Grom is yellow but I ride in black/white leathers with a black airbag vest so black is mostly what you would have seen.

You don't happen to have video of the crash, do you?

It was upgraded, but only with header, pipe, air intake and tune. Unfortunately I blew it up a couple of months ago (seized with broken con rod).

So, there's an 800 mile eBay engine on it now and I'm gathering parts to hopefully make it faster than last year.

CX500 or CX650 turbos are legal! (... there are rumors among organizers of a gentleman's agreement that turbos of any capacity will probably make it through tech without a problem ...)

I checked with Steve, this year's organizer from the SFRC: "It blows, it goes!" Let 'er rip!! Probably a good chance you'll win the Crowd Pleaser award ... or the Broken Toys award
