Maybe back on a bike

Heyo. From 2012-2015 I rode a Suzuki GZ250 down in Texas where I went to university. Then on my graduation day, someone hit and ran it in a parking lot, breaking the front fender and bending the front forks. It limped alright back to my mom's place, then I headed up here on a farewell tour before doing 28 months in Tanzania in the Peace Corps where I saw some... interesting bike repair techniques (worst of which were the tires I saw sewn together. Hell no. But there were some cool improvised tools...)
Now I've spent this summer up in Portland, my uncle gave me his old 1986 Suzuki LS650 that's been sitting for 10 years and I'm kinda slowly cleaning it up to see if it'll run.
I'll be heading back down to TX soon, not sure whether I'll take the LS with me, sell it, or keep it up here as my Oregon bike...

I've only sat on the LS stationary in the garage, but it doesn't seem like the most comfortable. It's kinda wide but short legged (which surprised me, since my uncle is a pretty tall guy... I'm not sure how he didn't look kinda clownish on the thing). So maybe that's a plus to modding it, if it allowed me to sit further back more comfortably...
But thanks for the welcomes both of you!

Love the 650 Savage. We did a complete ground up build on one. That little thumper kicked some ass! Chain drive conversion, mono-shock, GSXR forks and aluminum solid wheel inserts..Was sure fun before getting shipped out!

I'd rather walk than ride the stock version but a big Suzuki thumper is pretty damn appealing as a platform for something else. Those builds above are fantastic. The only thing missing is a kickstart lever like the SR400.
