Everyone knows the TW's are old school... retro.. underpowered/braked.. but they're still cool as shit.. Kitchy like the Rokon's Plus you can't pimp out a WR/KLR/whatever nearly as well as a TW. The things people have done with them are straight up crazy. You gotta admit, Its Wayyyy better than a rukus with a giant swingarm. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

They're cool, I want one too. An old WR250 2 stroke motor would be a nice fit?! ![]() |

Don't know about the others, but an EX250 (Ninja) has around 25hp stock. You can get it around 30 with a full exhaust and jet kit. To hit 37 you'd need to do something serious like bore it out, slap a turbo on, or add nitrous.

Where did you find that number? In the link below the 88-2007 is shown with 37 hp, the 08-2012 with 32.5 hp https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_Ninja_250R This site also lists 37 hp, but the dyno chart looks more like 28.. whats with that? I just can't imagine a manufacturer would fudge the numbers for their sales brochure.. <cough> http://www.rcramer.com/bikes/ex250/specs.shtml Edited by Scribbles on Jun 20th 2016 at 10:17 PM |

In Japan the TW is one of the often modified bikes. If you can get to bike pic's there it is amazing what they do.

2, or 200 HP...what matters is does the machine suit a purpose and bring a smile when used. WOuld I want it to be my only bike? No, but I have fun (and come closer to getting tickets than on my ZX-10), every time I ride it. A little gearing change and my '99 will do 60 MPH all day long with the knobbies and my fat ass on it. But who in their right mind rides on a "freeway"? LOL

Some people have pushed 35 with different carbs and intakes, timing changes, but those are rare. The consensus there seems to be that about 35 HP is the upper limit without physically altering the engine itself or adding forced induction or nitrous. There is one guy going for 48 HP, most people think he's crazy. |

I had three PreGen Ninja's ranging from all stock to race track in mods. Fun bikes! If I had not ridden a Yamaha R3 I would still have at least one of them. R3 is a bit more refined. Ok, a lot more refined...

Who are you going through for the TW? I have had good luck with I-90 Motorsports and Adventure Motorsports in Monroe. Hinshaw's has lost out on 4 bikes from me including one last year. Their determination to screw up and around until they loose a sure sale baffles me... I thought about putting a rear wheel on my front to get that 'huge' front and rear tire look but decided to hold off. I like the look though! Edited by Parilla125 on Jun 22nd 2016 at 11:44 PM |
