But, it must die anyway, if we are not to live on a toxic cinder.

This is big oilís death rattle. Music to my ears.
And our resident liberal has spoken. I knew you'd pop in at some point.
Gotta love that peak oil argument we were all promised 20 years ago.

If we want a civilized society we need to fund it through taxes. If we don't choose to base taxes on relatively wealthier people, then we need to soak the poor.
You got less of what you tax more, and you get more of what you tax less.

Taxing gasoline makes people drive less, and not taxing income makes for people creating more businesses. Sounds pretty smart when you think about it...

Yet the oil sells for less than zero.

US is a net exporter of oil, how does "entire US military empire" make it profitable?

verbal Rorschach? Ha..good one. it's cuz this forum allows us to verbally combust with relative anonymity. I don't know about you, but I get a serious case of a superiority complex when I post something that I THINK is witty and clever and quote-worthy... or not. Shit, I dunno. All I know is that I am LOVING this "no-traffic, social distancing" thing. I don't care how much gas is these days, the tanks are only 5 or so gallons, it aint gonna break the bank. And I get non-ethanol super (92 octane), for $3.35 a gal. in Canby.

I didn't usually ride on the weekends due to all the joyriders and Sunday drivers. Now there are a butt ton of cars and motorcycles EVERY day.You all need to go back to work so that I can go back to enjoying my retirement.

Obviously I'm kidding (kinda) but there does seem to be a lot more traffic on the roads now than previously.

Turns out i can do MORE SHIT in LESS TIME when I am not constantly bombarded by a hundred other dudes talking about football and trucks and fish and political circus shows.
