I do managed services for busineses and one of my customers In sandy ran out of urinal mats (the kind that lay on the floor) so I shoved two of them in the back of my jacket like smell good back protectors and smashed up bull run after work for a little delivery and a smoked briskit dip. So much better than coming out in my work truck.

Hopefully they didn't expect you to haul the old ones away the same way.

Put some finishing touches on my '04 600RR streetfighter I built in 2014. Original build here:

I built a bike and I like it! | PNW Riders

But wait! A forum poster here said that all streetfighters are junk. Hmmm. So either my bike is junk or it isn't a streetfighter.

Hmmm! So. The original overflow bottle on my 12 year old, ummm, "custom" bike was annoying me. Only 4k miles but it looked not as mint as everything else. Had to have a new one since there is no longer a fairing for it to hide behind.

old gross one

freshy

The stock rear plate hanger and signals were a little wonky looking. Ordered a TST Industries integrated tail light and plate hanger. Pretty decent stuff. A couple gripes though.

The light is supposed to be pre-wired, plug and play. Well. The darn turn signal leads are too short. Had to extend them. I also got their signal relay which wires into the harness and keeps the winking rate constant and not like a rabid squirrel.

The plate hanger seems made for a few different 600RR models. I made it work and darn if that plate is not on there for real. Not hidden, its in plain sight. I didn't bother with a lic plate light.

The tail previously

And now

Had a vintage Honda "wing" emblem so I stuck it on the seat cowl. Still deciding if I like it. I think I do.

Never "finished". But. Closer.

I thought I liked the silencer on my DR650's DB exhaust, but I think it was causing it to run really rich. Removed that bastard, threw half a can of sea-foam into the tank, and rode her to work today. She's louder than I prefer, but seems to breathe a bit bitter.

I'm tempted to install an A/F sensor in the header and rig up a gauge for it, cuz it's just impossible to tell how lean/rich it's running without one. Maybe next winter...

On my 600RR a few more details.

The rear brake fluid reservoir is a tricky item on this model. Stock it has a nasty looking fat hose that runs up under the tail. I had eliminated all that and just had the smallest piece of hose without a reservoir. Worked fine but with only a few cc's of capacity the fluid got dirty far too quickly. And what a bee-yatch to fill and bleed without a reservoir.

What I had

And now after rooting around for the exact length bolts/proper nuts/washers and fabbing a bracket from an aluminum barrel spacer. Also used part of a random steel bracket from some part of my past that had a captured nut already in the perfect spot.

Sourced a new Brembo reservoir, proper hose and wire clamps from Ducati.

Yes its ridiculously overkill but hey why stop now?
