Purchased new front wheel bearings and an Abus alarm disk brake lock. Oh and put on fresh tires last Saturday. Shoutout to EDR!

My bike will be happy once it's put back together!

That's kind of the point, green, good to go. steady yellow, I need to head home, if it's blinking, I need to pull off somewhere and call a tow. 04-07 aprilias have a too powerful magnet in the rotor and are known for frying the stator. I've already replaced 2.

I bet! I've used them before and as I walk out to my bike I can see it so I'm always reminded to take it off. Plus I already have the reminder cable

Did you break your caliper?

I currently have a disc brake with a cable that leads up to the handlebar so I plan on using the old cable with the new lock I just purchased. I like the added alarm to it, especially since my place of work is moving locations to a thief friendly location

Fuck...V4 Aprilias have the same exact stator issue, too powerful of a magnet frying stators. The belief is that they alleviated this with a quiet part revision that '14+ bikes got. Fucking-A.

ive never had one (used a pad lock a few times for long term (more then a week) storage of some bikes) i was on a ride with someone we stopped for lunch and after when we took off he forgot to take his off, made it 5 feet and fell over, luckly didnt brake anything other then a mirror and blinker (and pride)
i have an alarm system on my bike and insurance, if they want sylvester THAT bad to put up with that damn alarm blaring i guess they reallllllly want it

Oooo, glad it wasn't worse for your buddy!

I use to have an alarm connected to the battery but after a couple years of it being connected, it started draining the battery. I went to ride home after work one day and the bike wouldn't turn over. Decided against those kinds of alarms and to do a stand alone one. The bike battery was new by the way.
