I smacked my left mirror on a pole taking a turn into a parking lot a wee bit too tight... it didn't break it but without the right allen key on me I couldn't tighten it down properly, so it's kinda pointing off in a weird direction...

The cheapo Chinese mirrors on my Triumph do this rather often (even without me smacking them on things), so I've gotta find a better way to tighten them down and KEEP them that way... more loctite, a lock washer, something...

edit: oh and a bolt rattle off the heat shield on my DR650 header this weekend so I've got to get a new one of those... The thumper life.

Put the ladies to sleep for the month.

Removed the seats.

Removed the gas tanks and drained the gas.

Need to check the valves and change the oil before the next race.

Modified the license plate holder on the S1000RR using the original parts from it and my former Husky TR650. Ready to ride 405 north of Bellevue and the new 520 bridge.

This:

Long story short - paint/powder coating/etc. for the rear subframe, all shiny plastics, rearsets, pillion pegs/mounts, and some of the not-so-shiny plastics.

edit: sorry for the shit photo quality, my regular phone died a horrible death recently, and my old phone has a cracked lens... so this is as good as it gets without me begging the gf to take pictures with her fancy cameras.

Added some inexpensive Matazu Hard Bags ($99) to the M50...

I didn't like the mounting hardware, so I fabricated my own...this took up the bulk of the morning, but I am happy with the results

Ignition cylinder deletion, new chain/sprockets, coolant flush, brake fluid flush, oil/filter change, chassis inspection and dusted it off since it's been sitting in the corner since my last track day last year.

Installed a set of 18-20mm offset adjustable billet triple clamps from a KTM 144 SX onto my KTM 250 XC-W, which had 22mm offset cast clamps stock. I am hoping this makes the bike steer better, we'll see. I set them to 18mm so I should notice the difference.

Did an oil change on the bike today. Drained oil, pulled old filter and installed new Hi-Flo racing filter. I go to put the bike on center stand and guess what happens next?

Mother fuck, catch pan still in the path of the front tire gets knocked asunder and spills about 3 liters of oil on my garage floor and all over my front tire. Fuck, fuck, fuck! God damn it!

Think quick. Grab bag of Absorb It and contain the quickly spreading mess of hot oil. Cover the rest of the oil with the kitty litter stuff.

What to do about oil on front tire? Hmmm... brake cleaner, bad; power clean, bad. Light bulb goes off, wash it with Dawn. Wash front tire and wheel a couple times. Clean up massive oil mess, de-grease floor, rinse with IPA. Pull bike into garage, fill with oil and test.

What should have been a quick 35 minutes, turned into a 2 and a half hour ordeal. Yay for Sundays.
