I have a 796 version and its by far my favorite bike. I was shopping for a new bike this year and aside from a very expensive MV Agusta I never found a bike I enjoyed riding as much. They Hyper does everything well, and that combination of the air cooled 2V engine and chassis is probably the best thing Ducati has ever made to actually ride on the street.

Still very sporty, does fine at track days, but can also soak up some miles.

Plus Ducati has been refining that engine for a long time, so it doesn't suffer from the typical Italian "engineering" issues.

I plan on doing the belts/ valves this winter and installing a front spring kit.

I would love to get the Termi exhaust for it as well. Christmas is coming up lol

I just got a Mivv high mount (looks similar to the Termi high mount for a bit less). Ditches the cat and saves 10-ish pounds. Doing the airbox next, then I'll need to get it tuned. I figure instead of spending $15k on a new bike, I'll spend ~$2-3k getting another season or two out of this one while I wait for the next bike the excites me. Who knows maybe Ducati will put the V4 into something aimed at the street...

Good luck on the valves, I had looked into doing it myself a little bit and I decided against it. Ended up just taking it up to Seattle Used Bikes and they did that service for me. Apparently I was pretty close to having some serious valve issues.
