Taylor Robert airlifted out of King Of The Motos!

Sad news, race fans. After receiving extensive injuries( including internal injuries), Taylor Robert was Medivac-ed out of the Johnson Valley, during the insane enduro. He had won the first two of three races, and was chasing the lead in race three when he went down. Scant news is coming out on Robert's condition...

His good friend and fellow rider Destry Abbott just posted an update. It looks like Taylor had to have surgery and is facing another surgery shortly. He is still in ICU and being kept sedated.

It appears that Taylor did damage to his intestines and colon. What a bummer.

I got the update this morning from Destry's feed. Here's a quote that fills in a little about the scene.
"Dave Brosius:
I saw the footage that was shot from the KOH Chopper, the front end hit something and pitched him over the bars. Cody Webb couldn't see the crash and that's why he contiued but Colton Haaker, Max Gerston, the Hart Brothers and Noah Kepple all stopped for Taylor. Haaker was with Taylor when he came to and was responsive, Colton was holding Taylor and giving directions to Hit the Emergency Button on the tracker. Since the Chopper pilot saw the crash, he was able to land and start getting medical personnel to Taylor. When they landed, in the main pit, Taylor walked to the Ambulance and was transported. The Chopper crew went back to the crash site and found Taylor's Go Pro and showed Me the crash. What ever Taylor hit was hidden in the sand and was the same color of the surrounding dirt. When First Responders got to Taylor the riders remained in their, respective positions, and left slowly as they resumed "Their Race". Every rider was willing to give up their Race to Help Taylor!"

Destry noted that the internal injuries are a key concern and he's in ICU with more surgery scheduled on Friday.
Pray that he makes a full recovery.

Everybody knows riding carries with it a higher level of risk. That risk doesn't stop us from doing what we love. I certainly don't know Taylor personally, but I've helped run the local Endurocross race several times and have seen him there.

Sad news, I hope he makes a complete recovery! He is an amazing rider. I still remember a couple years ago at the Everett Endurocross he was the only rider jumping the entire log pit!? Here is a great video showing his skills:

Wow! Those are some skills, especially all the log rides and cement barrier threading.
