Split'n 405 evening commute

Wholly sheep shit! I got caught this storm for the past hour and some change. From K-Land to Rent'n, man...I was splitting 405 like Moses through the Dead Sea.

Eff this S!!!

Home safe and wet (obviously)

P.S. Almost posted this in "Adventure Riding" for I just went on a major adventure ride!

Yeah, the 2005. My 2002 turn signal is sticky and does not always work..I have replacement, but it seems to work perfect right when I am about to swap it out.

Also, gear held up real well. Only my mitts are really wet. My SwissGear backpack held my laptop and phone dry. And, Danner boots baby! My feet are bone dry.

Also, also, my first time reeeeally splitting traffic for major stretches of road. I am pretty sure folks in the cage were sympathetic and got zero honks or any tomfoolery.

Sucks to be you

I had to go across Renton on Grady (everyone trying to get on I-405/WA-167 and the assholes bypassing the highway and fucking up local roads instead). It has to be a major occasion for me to split through that insanity - too many times I wanted to until I saw some reject pull something stupid. Lucky for me, my 15 minute commute was right between outbursts.

Where are you in Renton?

I got caught in the downpour yesterday as well on south-bound 405 and lane split as well. Boots, jacket, gloves, and pants did their job and I stayed dry underneath. Naza, I live in Kennydale as well (east side of 405).

Yeah, I'm down. Maybe meet up at the 30th street (exit 6 405) Chevron. Also, maybe move the convo to the actual SUB Bikenight thread.

Cheers!

Before the Express lanes I would split 405 nearly every day going south from just before 520 to the i-90 exit:

My office moved and luckily don't have to do this anymore. But I never had any issues or close calls other than the occasional honk/name calling for the 6 months that I did it. It was really hard to sit for 20 minutes in black leathers in the heat when I could split through in about 6 minutes.

Ironically the most dangerous part of that was trying to merge from the HOV lane to the I-90 exit, which has nothing to do with splitting.

Man, that was just beautiful. What a cluster F of cars. Good on ya.

Now imagine that last Thursday with the lightning and heavy rain coming down.

Cheers!
