Took the front fairing off today, and I think I might be in trouble now as now I really want to make a build of it as it changes the balance a lot, but I have a '56 project and a '67 I add to from time to time.

There should be scholarships or something for bike builds.

How do you like the VFR? If I could afford a new bike, that's the one I want...in Pearl White.

Man, I think the fairing is what made the S cool, but maybe cuz I'm biased.

And yeah, one of the biggest problems with owning a Harley is the modification addiction.

I mainly took it off to see what it would look like. A few people were curious so I took pictures. I will say without it the look changes drastically. Suddenly there isn't enough black to balance out those gold wheels.

I like it either way to be honest, takes all of 5 minutes to change out. Though after seeing a few other S models around I do have the desire to make mine my own. Never liked seeing someone else have the exact same vehicle as me lol

Thanks to this thread going off topic; I now have a new addition to the family!

She's seen some miles, but feels great to me! Bonus, there were mods that the owner didn't list that were present when I arrived to pick it up (fan & ignition switch) and she kicks over in one try when I remember to turn the ignition switch on. Now I get to research how to convert her over to a supermoto (best wheel size, disk size and right caliper bracket). It's a shame that the model dedicated forums are no more.

No matter, I'm stoked to have a soon to be dual purpose bike, another Honda and something I feel like I can really tear into without getting too over my head! I'm actually excited to learn about carbs.

Just bought the bike today!

And I'm definitely buying a sumo setup as soon as I figure out what I need to buy to do it (new world for me and the good xr650r forums are gone). I'm excited to have my first dirt setup too, as I finally want to get used to a bike moving around underneath me. I used to have it as a kid while downhill mountain biking, but I lost my comfort for it somewhere along the line.

Edit: And I just went with a conversion kit....poof, done!

I was an inch and a half away from buying that bike last week. It just never came together for me. Interested to see what you make of it.

Congrats, they are great bikes! You will want a fork brace, if not a CRF fork conversion if you go Supermoto.

I haven't posted a pix of the Scout lately, it has factory bags now and a fairing.
