Well, I guess you've found a familiar face. I was an OMRRA expert back then. My wife and I were OMRRA race officials, and we were also the local chapter leaders of the Christian Sport Bike Association- we used to hand out our Bibles at your Sunday morning services in the tower at PIR. I continued until '08. The economy fell, relinquishing all of my sponsors, temptation got the better of me in life and I took a good hard fall. Many things have happened that I would have never guessed would. So I am climbing the mountain once again ![]() ![]() |

My wife and I have been away for about 15 years. We would like to do some track days, and we still remember which way the track goes too. ![]() |

I'll try this again.... A quick story about fellow member and "has-been" racer @Damon Mon Wai, Damon was a fast guy back in the day, and I think might have been a novice student of mine before he came into his own skills (Damon, remember when we met? My old tuner Mike from Bolt racing and I ran into you on the street?). I was trailing Damon for a few laps and setting him up for a pass. This was back in '98 at Pacific, then SIR. I followed closely behind Damon into T-5 and as we transitioned for 6, Damon disappeared into a cloud of smoke from a ruptured oil line. I thought, "well, he's out of the way", and as that thought ran from my head, down I went from the spew onto the track surface, sliding on my back to the top of 6 and seeing three more riders coming in and doing the same thing I did. Aside from my rear tire leaving a nice skid mark across my face shield, all riders involved were uninjured. Those were the days before the belly pan was required. And also in those days, we had grid qualifiers in the morning to determine grid position for the afternoon mains.....those were the days. Before the bus stop, we also went straight from T-9 onto the entire front straight before there was a wall down the side.....anyone remember when we pitted inside of turn 9?? |
