The world is changing quickly, several print media outfits have shuttered in the last couple years.

Motorcyclist mag went off (printed) after 104 years. The last few issues were completely different in lets cater to the younger crowd. All Gone.

Autoweek went bye bye after 60 years, I had a sub S for 34 years. I get Car and Driver till my sub runs out.

Sport Rider is gone.

I get many of them now digitally which is fine. Common Tread is a good one.

I know I have missed a lot of the others.

Before there was mcnews there was Road Rider which was all about traveling by motorcycle. It had great stories and color pictures and I toured a lot of places that I first read about in Road Rider.

I wrote Bob Carpenter a long letter asking him not to dump Road Rider but he never responded and my Road Rider subscription was converted to mcnews. I read each mcnews issue in about 15 minutes and never renewed the subscription.

I obviously am not going to miss it even though there isnít much left to read elsewhere. I once had 7 subscriptions and now only one.

Ya know, I really wanna go off on the latest news of the latest mag that has bitten the dust. I know, I know, sign of the times. The losers of this game are the hard working folks who lost their jobs, the faithful readers who enjoyed the expose's and articles and how to's and reviews and everything else it had to offer. It is what it is. I look for mag's every time I'm at the store, only to find MX and quad rags. Not my thing, but the hicks are apparently the only ones with any sense of loyalty. If you don't know what I'm talkin about, you're not paying attention, and that's the problem. So i'm off to my least favorite site to re-read an article for the ump-teenth time whilst dodging the shitty spam ads. Yeah, Mr White, science.

I actually had a subscription at the office that was going to run in 2 months. RIP

Now I'm down to Rider at the office and Cycle World at home.

At least Rider publishes motorcycle reviews still. Cycle World has become another hipster mag.
