It's a myth that the ticket gets tossed if the cop doesn't show. The cop's report is THE evidence against you, it stands on it's own. You have no 'right' to face your accuser, since it's not a criminal issue. |
That is true, but only if the officer actually writes a report on the ticket. I've had two tickets tossed because the officer didn't take the time to write a report and didn't show up at court. It's never a guarantee, though.
