KTM 690 Duke

Anyone ever owned/ridden one? Thinking about maybe trading in the 1000 for a step down and more fun from what I've heard.

Just wondering opinions on them, and any cool/bad reviews.

I've not ridden one, but the Husky 701 has the same engine...choose your poison with an SM (it's what I prefer) or the dual sport.

You probably know this already, but the 690 Duke is totally different from the Husky 701 SM. KTM has stopped producing the 690 SMC, which was the twin to the Husky.

I can't speak to the Duke, having never ridden one. I will say the 690 motor is an absolute jewel. Lots of punch with good maintenance intervals. I know 1-90 Motorsports is open to test rides--you might check with them and see if they have one in stock.

The 690 Enduro is one sexy machine... my buddy got one a year or two ago and did the TAT on it, and didn't complain about the bike even once. He's even been considering selling his Daytona since the Enduro gets ridden way more often now...

Sorry, I guess the new 690 is not available in the States.

Huh, I thought they quit making it altogether. Didn't realize we were just getting the shaft.

I guess you could always sumo an Enduro.

  2016 Husqvarna 701 Enduro, on 17's :)
Softly sprung I've heard on the 2016 690 Dukes. More HP out of the engine than the Husqvarna with the reworked head however for that year.

The 2016 has a new balance shaft in the head, which makes it the smoothest single around too.

Motorcyclist or some magazine has a comparison of the new duke against the Husky.

I saw the post about it not being available in the states. It wasn't the impression I was getting.
