Kawasaki H2 SX/SE

Only curious here - has anyone ridden an H2 SX? I see it got sport-tourer of the year from Motorcycle.com. I don't think I've ever seen one, and was out at Hillsboro Motosport recently.

I have at least seen an H2. Has anyone had some seat time with an H2 or H2R? Just curious as to riding impressions in the real world.

The thing costs as much as a goldwing($22K+). Doubt you'll see very many in the wild. Absolutely pointless to get without the full SX SE, you can't even get heated grips or the quickshifter on the normal SX making it basically worthless for the intended purpose.

I've ridden next to one. Couple of years ago up at the ridge a H2R made me look like I was standing still 3/4 of the way down the straight when he blew past me. Apparently 170 Tuono horsepower are no match. Silver lining is that I don't have to replace my connecting rods as often.

I saw one up while up in Seattle last week. I was actually surprised to see one in the wild. Looked quite good with the dark green and factory bags. then the price tag..... 22k

Wow - the Ridge blow-by must have been something. I would have thought H2s would be at that track, but haven't seen one yet. Seems like you could experience the bike there. Pretty heavy, though - a full day of lapping would probably work you over.

As for the price, yeah.....$22K is pretty high. If they want to sell in numbers, I'd think that'd need to drop down to at least $18K, if not less.... That would at least be in the ballpark of BMW tourers like the K1600 that makes similar (admittedly less) power.

It was fun, loud and a bit unexpected...

That must've been Oct of last year? I was there that day as well. He passed my little r6 on the straight like I was tied to a stump! He was in group 2 to start the day, needless to say they moved him to group 3 after lunch, lol. I stood as far down the front straight as they'll let you, right there by pit out, and just watched that guy go blowing by! Awesome sound for sure. You don't see them at the track as they're not great circuit track bikes, straight line sure, but I'd bet their own superbike would trounce it on the track. They're too heavy.

I got a brand new concours 14 for 10k. its not the same bike, but for less than half the price its a helluva lot more in the "gonna happen" range than the h2.
Chrishil54 and Fallingsand like this.

That Concours 14/ZX-14 engine is sure a great one. I had a chance to ride a buddy's ZX-14 last year, and came away very impressed with the drivetrain in general.

I've sat on one... it's much less comfortable than a ZX-14, but much lighter.

Ah the H2R, seems expensive till you realize you're literally the fastest thing out there...

I dunno, mix most of that with some real world comfort I'd say the SX/SE might be worth looking into...
