You are missing the point - quite deliberately, it seems. Since others have already done it, Harley's attempt must be better than others; what we see is they make it worse but in the right direction, and expect a trophy for participation.

Me, I want Harley to simply make a Sportster with 120 lbs weight reduction, bench seat, good ergos, removal of weird protrusions around rider's legs, decent leaning angles, ABS, TC, and top shelf suspension.

It is not even hard. It will sell as hot cakes. Both Triumph and Ducati have done it from their spare parts bins, and sold a ton. But instead, HD gives us Adventurosity, and Ultra Heavy Weight Street Fighter.

They are so fucked...

Not really - Ducati is still making a 1200cc V twin that produces 160HP, and 1100 air cooled V twin that clocks 86HP. If HD could replicate that at the same weight and handling point, they would have a winner or two.

I always loved HD BBQ series from Spain, I think. These bikes looks so right to me. Also the racing was very close, as they all seemed to be spec. The good part was these things sound like WW2 aircraft in mass.

Minus TC and ABS the Buell XB12S @ 395 pounds was that bike. Had they allowed the brand to continue it's a safe bet that HD would have eventually baked that same tech into a natively-badged bike. But...alas...no...one of a myriad of really bad decisions...

Ditto! I could never buy an ADV that looks like HD's (current? would be?) offering. It looks like a fucking Sherman!! But that first image!? Hell yes! It looks like an American Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled... just please use fewer words in the model name.

Sounds just like what I said.

Shit, HD could even focus on their "core market" and license other shops to make their bikes into something better like you see with Mercedes and McClaren or Ford and Shelby.
