IMS not in the NW

Just got the email from IMS with the show schedule and unless they add something latter, it's not coming any closer than CA.

Kinda bites.

Just saw this too I'm kind of surprised it's not a bigger tour - 7 cities is nothing...

Well, if they'd stop doing the show during snowmobile season …

I don't know, the dates never were an issue for me. I didn't go there intending to buy a bike, just the chance to see and sit on the new models. That's something you can't really do with the little dealerships around here. Your lucky if they carry half the model line, let alone the one you really want to see.

I agree. Have attended in Seattle and Portland. Was fun to see and check out new bikes. Never had a direct impact on what I purchased but oh well. Maybe the PNW doesn't buy enough bikes to merit a stop.?!?

I got it too. It wouldn't surprise me to hear they add shows in the future.

From Motorcycle Shows Instagram Acct:

Quote:
motorcycleshows .... The tour is built in partnership with our key OEM and sponsor partners. Each year we ask them to identify the markets where they are focusing, and to prioritize them in order of importance. Not all the partners have exactly the same needs and requirements each year, so as we work with them individually and collectively, some markets may fall off the schedule or get added based on overall consensus. We present all the options available to us each year, and final determination is driven by each companys ability or desire to support a market. Sometimes we have to vacate a market because we cannot get a venue or date that works in concert with the other venues & dates we can get elsewhere in the country. Finally, budgets are not limitless, so each partner has to weigh the pros and cons of doing an IMS show in a market vs. other activities they may have going on in the market through-out the year.
Putting the tour schedule together is like building a jig saw puzzle - all the pieces have to fit together correctly. In 2017 Sacramento, Portland and Miami did not make it onto the schedule. We are working on a new Outdoor schedule which could potentially stop in these markets, as well as other markets IMS has visited in the past, like Atlanta, Denver and Houston.

Good thing I live close to Abbottsford. The Vancouver Motorcycle Show is usually pretty good.
