I had amazing customer service... From China

The CB500x like many bikes comes with long levers, non-adjustable (that's remedied in the 2016 version, but I got a 2015 old stock).

So, like many bikes before, I set out to spend money on new levers.

Then I thought to myself, screw it, why spend a ton of money on Pazzo's or the like, when I can just grab some Chinese knockoffs for a 1/6th of the price.

Sure enough, I searched ebay, found some, and paid a whopping 26.99 for the PAIR of shorty adjustable pazzo knockoffs with free shipping.

They came rather quickly (I think they have some stuff Stateside they ship from California) and installed them.

Brake lever, fit perfect, the clutch lever however, was a bit floppy. Nothing I can't fix with boring it out a bit, putting in a bushing, and a couple delrin shims to thicken it up the extra half mill it needed.

But why not message the seller, tell them my dissatisfaction, and see what they do?

So I did.

And then I was surprised.

They really wanted to help me, and asked if I had a ruler or calipers to take measurements of it, and my pin.

So I did, and took photos and sent.

No word back for a couple days, so I sent a "Hey, is this part wrong?" Email.

I got a reply that they were making me a new one, and it would be anodized and shipped out within 24 hours, but since it was coming from China it would take 7-14 days.

Fast forward, today is Day 12 and the part actually shows up.

And it's correct...

I'm actually rather impressed (Ask beansbaxter, he'll tell yah how hard it is to impress me)...

So yah.. That's my story.

I got great customer service from China, who'd a thunk?

Interesting experience! However my knockoffs fit decent enough, the issue is the adjustment cam. It doesn't like to hold position. I've fiddled with it and seems to be holding on the lower settings but i don't 100% trust it.

Wish I had done that when I got my fleabay levers as the same exact situation happened with the clutch lever loose. I am probably just going to fill the hole up with jb weld and drill it out to size.

I have found typically ebay sellers will go above and beyond to get good feedback as they depend on good ratings.

Be careful what you wish for. The Chinese are getting WAY better at customer service in the last five years.
beansbaxter likes this.

I had that on some of mine too. My remedy was to tighten the associated screw/lock nuts and that squared them away.

Good to hear my people are getting better at things other than math lol.

I've noticed the uptick in quality as well. Not only the customer service but the products themselves. Recently I repaired an '08 Hyper 1100S (light crasher) and several of the bits/pieces were sourced from China. Mainly carbon fiber bits... all good especially considering the price.

My 20 year-old daily driver e36 BMW cage needed new headlights. All the kids on the forums use these Depo Chinese things as opposed to factory replacements for $500 each or whatever. I got a set ($200 for the pair) and they are great.

Still... plenty of crap comes from there so as always buyer beware.

The entire headlight units. Not just the bulbs.

I think i have those headlights in my 318ti?

And on topic, I have had impressive service from the cheap lever guys in China. I sent them some pics of the Rekluse/Magure rear hand brake master cylinder lever I have on my XR650R and they are making me a custom pair! I have a set on my KTM 250 and they are very nice.
