Hurricane Ridge Paving

I just got word from a very reliable source that the road up to Hurricane Ridge is being paved. Lots of delays, sand, and gravel, so mind your P's & Q's if you head up.

Weird, I was just there a couple weeks ago and the road seemed surprisingly good. Oh, maybe they meant the road north of the ranger station, just outside the park? That part was pretty shitty.

Anyhow, thanks for the update, that'd definitely be an unpleasant surprise to find out about first hand when you were expecting some nice relaxing twisties.

Bummer. I planned on going there in a couple of weeks. I wonder if it will be done by then?

Should it matter? Just don't plan on using the road as a race track, carry come comfortable shoes so that you can wander some of the trails a bit (I recommend Hurricane Hill), and enjoy the views.

But, get there early if you are going on a weekend, because the gate backs up pretty fast.

I was up there yesterday. It's almost all covered in what appears to be a chip-seal type substance. It looked oily to me, but I'm kind of untrained in this stuff. Could be a pre-treatment for new pavement.
