Exclamation Guy Martin shatters WOD World Record!

Guy Martin, who described the Isle of Man TT (after 11 times racing it) as having "lost its edge," set out to smash the Wall Of Death speed record at 100mph.
While he didn't reach his goal (and would have blacked out and/or gone unconscious at that speed, his speed of nearly 20mph over the current record is amazing!

And an excellent article:

This is one of those things that appears to be a relatively easy thing to do when viewed through a video. Point being, Guy made that look easy.

I am sure that any mortal even standing inside of that ring would be clenching their butt hole shut from fear. Just getting up on that wall AT ALL is fucking incredible. Oh...and he built that bike in his own garage. This guy is amazing....

Really incredible!!

Thanks for the post, didn't want to miss this one!

Was disappointed Guy wasn't going to be at the TT this year, but the man kind of just finds his own way. One of a kind.

Had no idea you had to deal with that kind of G-load. Good stuff.

Perfect timing, I just finished his book where he talks about practicing for this. The goal he initially set was 80 mph, so glad to see he just about hit it.

I'll definitely miss him from the races but he's got all sorts of projects in the works. He won't disappear.

I wonder if they also set the record for the biggest wall of death ever built. The bigger the diameter, the faster speed that can be achieved.

Still not as cool as Ryan Anderson in that Razor Video doing the wall in the UTV.

I'm guessing he was sponsored? Also, Indian is the traditional bike for the WOD.

That wasn't an Indian. According to that video it is a three cylinder "BSA based bike".

I heard it was a BSA in the film, too. I think it was a lot of promo. He did overly dramatic warming up and getting up to speed and he had to keep blipping the throttle on that thing like it would stall if he let it idle. And he wore all this scary gear while as other films have shown regulars don't wear any protective gear at all.

Looks like a lotta hype to me. He is a showman.

Im not so sure about that. Have you ever ridden the carnival ride that spins you inside a giant drum. It feels like your eyes are going to go through the back of your head. It doesnt go 70
