I have watched some of those flat track 'sort of' bike races on YouTube. They are quick! Makes sense to pull the left bar over like they do.

I find watching these videos mesmerizing, it almost looks like the guy was just out for a ride and decided, why not hit this track up, then proceeds to lap them like it's no big deal.

Boy, that ain't no lie! One just has to go club racing to find out all the track days and street 'hot footin' did not make you an actual fast rider! Then when you get to the stage of being 'fast' in club racing, go out with some of the fast 'national' riders and you find out you are slow all over again! Kind of sucks! In a good way.

I actually think it was the bike. It looked to weigh half as much as the sportbikes and may have had a better power-to-weight ratio in addition to being able to push harder in turns. The surface and tire composition could have a lot to do with it, too.
