Fog-Off Spray

This stuff is TERRIBLE. Iíve applied it twice now. I thought maybe I did it wrong the first time because as soon as I closed the visor it fogged up horrendously.

But the second application is just as bad. I have to ride with the visor lifted up or any light from ahead is completely blinding.

Has anyone else used this stuff? I canít believe any store would actually sell something that completely fails at its one job.

I use Cat Crap on my visor and my glasses. Works great.

Even the best anti-fog stuff works for about half a season till you get tired of it.

Nothing beats pinlock, they simply don't fog or blur your vison. If your helmet didn't come with one you'll need the insert and the outside visor for it. Keep your original one for the summer. They run about $70 if you need both, Revzilla should have them (not sure what helmet you have)

If you've maxed out your budget and have to use an anti-fog, they don't all preform equally. I'll try to find the stuff I used to use, but it's been a couple years.

As far as what can help you today, this very commute, crack the visor open just slightly. Your face is going to get cold but you'll be able to see.

And if you don't have a Pinlock option for your helmet:

Thanks, guys.

I have a Bilt Techno 2.0 Bluetooth, but there is no pinlock option for it.

I'm going to take this back an exchange it, though. The strap sits too far back and it's actually pretty painful on my adam's apple. I will DEFINITELY exchange it for a helmet that has a pinlock option.

Worth a try, hoping you're right on this. Next trip to Wally World I'm picking up a bottle.

I use a couple of drops of dish washing liquid. It works well, and it's CHEAP. Specialty products aren't necessary, and they probably aren't any better.

In this instance the specialty product didn't work at all.

Another plug for pinlock. I've used it for years....... cold, rain etc. and I never have to even crack visor.

See if you can exchange it for a Shoei, Scorpion or Arai. Whatever fits your head shape the best. Wear the Hemet for 10-15 minutes in the store. You want asnug fit without pressure points.
You'll never regret getting a quality helmet. Especially if your head meets the road. IMHO the Bilt gear is second rate at best.
A Shoei saved my brains in a 120 mph highside at a trackday. I'll never wear a 'inexpensive'helmet after that.

Yeah. Iíll be going with one of those this time. The noise in the Bilt is horrendous even with all the vents closed. The Bluetooth is pretty good though. My wife said she canít even tell Iím riding when she calls.
