I wouldn't trust that to stay attached very long. Picturing it sliding down just a little bit with every bump until it falls right out.

go to harbor freight and get a welding rod case and attach it to your side pannier rack and put that in it

^^^^^ great idea. Made me remember I have a tool tube that I made that has never been in use. The extinguisher fits in it perfectly!

the other location is better - more accessible much easier to get to and it's the furthest away from the engine where a fire would likely be.

btw the more group rides you go on the higher the chances are that you will use it...

I've been carrying a small ABC extinguisher for years. One day I was
riding home from work on a semi-rural road and passed a car stopped
on the shoulder with the hood up and flames coming out. A distraught-looking
man was staring at the fire. I grabbed the extinguisher out of my saddlebag
and emptied it on the fire, putting it out. The driver was amazed and thanked
me. So, the fire you stop may NOT be your own... and maybe you can make
a good impression on a cager.

One precaution I take storing pressurized things in my saddlebag is wrapping them
in plastic foam padding so the constant vibration banging things together doesn't
wear a hole in the container (as it did with a souvenir can of Billy beer on the
return trip from Texas).
