Don't ever ride a Grom!

Or you will want one! I went and looked at a Grom tonight just for something to do and couldn't help but buy it. It's ridiculously fun!

One of the few bikes that SWMBO has absolutely nixed. It was something to do with she did not believe that I had the self control and maturity to stay out of jail.

Those are fun. I had a "close call" with the purchase of a Kawasaki Z125 as well, after a test ride....

Ive come to the conclusion its way more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. Per cc i had more fun on my modded crf50 than just about anything else and latley ive been rocking a wr250X and its nice to WOT some gears and not be bug eyed for the fuzz. I will say the mechanical empathy is hard to get over screaming it around all the time.

A few years ago a fellow from Italy came to Oregon to do a reasonably long ride on a Grom and write about it for a magazine. Honda loaned him one to use. The place he used as a "home base" was down the coast from me. He rode that thing over 2000 miles mostly in Oregon I think, don't recall the whole route. I linked up with him for a day ride and took some photos and video of him riding it. I also rode it a little bit to see what it was like, maybe 10 minutes. Very light and easy to maneuver but seemed like there was not enough leg room to really be comfortable.

We used a Grom for class last year. Fun bike to ride, but new riders tended to do impressive stoppies completely by accident (or so they say!). One guy did a nice end over end. Fortunately he placed his body between the pavement and the bike, saving major damage to the motorcycle.

Now this is something I want!

Absolute truth. I picked up a Yamaha Zuma a few years ago and that was probably the most fun I've ever had on 2 wheels.

When the Z125 Pro came out to compete with the Grom, the first thing I thought of was how much I'd like to have one, but with the stock motor removed, and to fit a KX100 motor in it.

A guy I know from a 2 stroke forum is just now finishing a Grom with a YZ125 motor in it. Now THAT'S the Grom I'd like to ride!
