Know what you want to pay, know what others are paying elsewhere, and know that everything they tell you about price is 100% bullshit. Also be willing to walk away. I normally walk in with an OTD price I’m willing to pay. If they will do it, great. If not, I leave.

Also make it clear that you’re not coming back if they try to call you later with another price/deal. That shit bugs me to no end. Make the deal while I’m there, or don’t.
That's why, when I've bought new cars, I've gone to Kellogg, ID and Dave Smith motors. I don't know what they charge now but the last car I bought from them was $49.00 over invoice, which I verified to the penny with the local dealer. There's no messing around with "I've gotta check with the manager" bullshit.

For used cars a local dealer prices his cars well below the Blue Book price and does not negotiate. That's the only place that I would buy a used car. My family has bought 4 SUV's from them.

I knew a guy that would walk up to the dealership and state a price then say “Just tell me yes or no” on the verbal price. Anything else and he would walk. It actually worked for him a few times.

I'm happy with the deal I got,I've seen what some others have paid. I might have gotten a few hundred more off,I'm not completely done dealing with them,I'm going to try and get a couple things thrown in when I go pick it up. I have one more fishing day and a stop in Dutch Harbor for a few hours then the 7-8 day gulf crossing. Hopefully go pick it up on the 26th-27th

Auto Quest in Seattle doesn't deal. They price their cars below BB value. Take it or leave it. They were a joy to deal with.
