I like to have a brick and mortar dealership to walk into, with all the closures in the last decade, i do not mind paying a little more to help them keep the lights on and underpay their staff so I can have that opportunity.

Dealerships. Our passion can't exist without them.

Of all the experiences listed so far, I've had nothing like them. If you go into he dealership armed with as much knowledge as can be acquired about the bikes and pricing, then you'll walk out with a fair deal.

As most on here, I've bought and sold a few dozen bikes in my lifetime. Which seller would you rather deal with? A CL flake, or a dealership that has skin in the game to make sure you don't bad-mouth them later?

So he does and a couple days later I see another dealer has a way better price,so I let the guy I've been emailing back and forth to know,it's a lot lower price. So a day goes by and I see that they lowered there price to match. So he sends me the new breakdown and the price is the same as the first time,my issue with it is,they lowered the price on the bike, but the freight and setup went from $900 to $1776. I know they are in the business to make money but I just don't think it's right to advertise a lower price but raise the F/S. I countered what I'll pay so I'll see what they will say. I'm hoping it works out but if not I'll keep searching.

I've bought a shitload of bikes on CL. I trust my feelings about people. If you seem like a squirrel, I am out no matter how good a deal the price makes it look. Never got screwed.

I've sold a shitload of bikes on CL. Had a guy show up with fake cashier's checks, had a guy show for a test-ride in a 30-year-old
snowmobile suit and a brand-new-in-the-box-$40-helmet, after he told me how experienced a rider he was.

If you're new to the game, buying a bike on CL is the same as buying a lottery ticket. Or find/make a friend that's been doing it a while.

Of CL bikes I looked at, considered buying, it's amazing how entertaining it can be, when I played just a bit clueless, and had the potential seller tell me things about the bike that made me want to burn their house down.

Sure you could dicker and hem and haw all ya want and beat those prices by a wee bit, maybe!. I hate talking with sales people so CC does the deal for me.

Last few cars, truck and trailer too.

I think that you missed my point. You said there price when you meant their price. I know that I'm being an asshole but people should check there post before posting it. They're making mistakes when their posts there are spelled wrong.

Another common mistake: I'll assure you that I'll ensure that you are insured.

I'm a mechanical engineer so I'm not an English expert, but I've done a lot of writing in my long, and prestigious, career. BTW, I am the most humble person in the world. Well, maybe Trump.

Really! Why does every forum have one? Your (you're) it in case you didn't realize it. Had to throw in that little part, probably got you all excited when you 1st saw I used the wrong you're. Didn't know I'd be getting graded on my posts. I'd prefere that you only read my post, don't comment unless it's actually on topic.

Congrats!! A good deal is you getting the bike you want at a price you are comfortable with and the dealership makes money. Go out and have a great time and forget about the interwebs

Highly likely I will go with Costco to get a new Goldwing. Could you give more info on how it works?
