Poor bike... Its like a puppy in a bad home, you just wanna save it.
Very true, a badly beaten and neglected puppy...

Meanwhile my 650R is waiting for a new stator and rectifier. The old girl is finally starting to show her age. I replaced the speed sensor off the front sprocket recently too. A good life and a lot of miles to go yet.

I always tell people with bikes like that “Try Craigslist” as I want no part of them.
Sold a bike and just found out the new owner snapped off the clutch shaft after replacing the clutch. Requires splitting the cases. More work than the bike is worth, even though it is (was) a beauty. Kind of sad.

interested to know the service life of that bike. i sold mine because i wanted something faster, but i was thinking that twin should last freaking FOREVER with maybe only replacing a clutch, which seemed weak to me.

"complete with most all parts"? So it is complete except for the parts he does not have? I think I will pass on this one.

There are plenty of clutch kits out there, but I've never had problems with mine. The pull is fairly light, the cable hasn't stretched, and it doesn't slip. It's got 60,990 miles and I just replaced the stator last month because that finally gave out. Replaced the fork seals last spring because they were leaking. I took the CCT out once because I thought it was making noise, but couldn't find anything wrong so I was probably being paranoid. Other than that, it's just been oil every 3,000-5,000 miles, valve checks every 15,000 miles, chains and tires. I'm planning to take it up Pike's Peak next season, and maybe down to Four Corners.

Nothing seems too out of place, except for the title:
Honda Shadow - Clear Windshield.Costume - $800

Costume? The body of the ad makes no further mention of the costume. Is it leathers? The Hamburglar? I guess you have to go see the bike and find out.
