haha the dude in the video is a stone. He does not seem very enthused.

I really like the embedded camera/GPS on the video capability. That alone would probably sell me on it if I needed a new helmet and it was the right price (apparently it is only $400 on this kickstarter?) but I wouldn't drop everything I own to buy it. It just makes things extra convenient vs. me having to take my camera on/off all the time to charge it and fiddling to find the right mounting location.

Otherwise, I don't need Nav, music, or calls, so those are just throwaway features for me.

I wonder how waterproof it is over a 5 year period.

It'd be nice if it said anywhere that it's an open platform, i.e. they'll publish code and specs so others can build for it, validate the software and debug/fork it, integrate or substitute your own hardware and software and so on.

Very unambitious project, I'd say. This kind of incremental changes is better left to traditional manufacturers, who also happen to know what they are doing in terms of crash safety.

Kickstart projects should dazzle and move innovation envelope forward.

nothing special about it at all, bluetooth helmets have existed for ages. Built in cam? big whoop, quality is going to be shit compared to dedicated action cams anyways.

do your head a favor and buy a company's helmet that knows what it's doing. I for one, absolutely love my Bell

Nope. Remind me.

Honestly, I think this will probably be the future like GPS guided vehicles. As developers fine tune this technology, and more and more people buy and use them, the more norm it will get and everybody will have one. Just like I was never going to stop using a cassette tape player over a CD player........
You'll only be able to find our current standard helmets in a garage sale or on ebay or......

I agree with albatross, how water proof can or will it be to protect all that techy stuff?

Man I really hope Nuviz gets their act together. Their first release is a bit of a hot mess and too spendy, but I love the idea of combining all the crap I want in one seamless gadget that is not tied to one helmet.

Meh... probably not. It's going to be uber expensive due to economy of scale (they won't sell many), and it can be more cheaply replicated with existing designs.
