Cops riding double?

I don't ever recall cops riding double before, but I spotted this on a walk a couple of days ago.

I bet the person on the back never hears the end of that! Never seen that either.

Perhaps one had a breakdown? They still ride Harley's, right? (I know, cheap shot, but I'm not one to pass up low hanging fruit)

Looks like you were in Tel Aviv, at the beachfront? Are V-Stroms usual for police throughout the city or is that just for beach patrol areas?

Come to think of it, if you wanted to be in a position to apprehend people both in vehicles and on foot, that seems like a good arrangement. Purse snatcher runs away, cops take off after him and the moment any footwork is needed (tackling on the beach, perp runs into a crowd or through a shop) the cop on the back just jumps off, rider stays with the bike, can still move to cut him off etc. And nobody has to put a sidestand down or leave a bike.

Yep, Tel Aviv and about a block from the beach, probably just south of the Sheraton.

Didn't notice V-Stroms further inland but I was only there for a week, staying at the beach and working at the airport.

The bikes filtering to the front at intersections was so cool to see work well, but some of the lane splitting would make me pucker if I was the rider.

Super common in Latin America. The cop on the back has a shotgun or SMG.

I just noticed the swade boots, beard, and huge smile on the rider the passenger doesn’t look all that happy , no one should look that happy riding a Suzuki, just saying.

Hey, V-Stroms are fun. Mind you, I wouldn't want to ride that 650 version in sand with those dual sport tires and Officer Lovehandles on the back...
