I think we are saying the same thing. The tape is part of the zipper. So I'm pretty sure they mean the tape of the jacket zipper half has to be sewn to leather, not just to the poly lining. Presumably the rider I read about had a suit where the 360 zip was attached only to the lining like a lot of those 8 inch "add to your pants" zippers are done. Don't have my jacket handy to photograph but I found a pic of the jacket half of a Dainese 360 zip online. Here you can see that the zipper tape is stitched to the leather. They are indeed attached up from the bottom edge so the bottom edge of the jacket leather overlaps the pants.

Oooohh I see. Yeah, we're talking about the same thing. Attaching to the jacket liner would be incredibly stupid.

This is not race gear (Joe Rocket fabric jacket) but...pants attachment zipper tape, stitched to fabric flap, stitched to liner, with some sort of backing to the liner - instead of stitching the zipper tape directly to the main body of the jacket. It's worth scrutinizing this stuff when shopping, particularly if the gear is not something that would be required to meet a racing organization's safety standard. I have a similar zipper-to-liner attachment in a Revit mesh jacket, so it's not just Rocket doing this.

We have a winner!

Eagle Leather in Auburn came through with the Warrior Princess jacket. This thing looks sharp, the leather is nice and heavy and soft, the zippers are built like they're meant to pull a truck, and it has pockets for armor. I plan to get some Forcefield or D3O armor to throw in it. The only oddity is a second flap of leather beneath the offset zipper. I could do without it because it gets bunched up if you're in a hurry. Best guess is that it's meant to emulate the double breasted "huge floppy lapel" look of their more "traditional" jackets (which just look ridiculous to me) when it's not zipped up.

She also has a Shoei GT-Air, Sidi Gavia boots, and Alpinestars GPX gloves. Got all of it (except the jacket) at Performance Cycle in Denver at their end of season sale. 20 - 50 % off everything. Yeah, the jacket is the only thing I insisted she get in the women's version. We'll hold onto the Bilt Grace jacket just to have a spare. It was so cheap and fits so well that it's not worth returning.

After finding the jacket, we dropped by Lawless HD to see what they had... and laughed at the selection of women's gear. She thought the Sportster 883 felt pretty good with mid controls and low-standard bars, and couldn't stand the mini-apes or forward controls (Good Girl!) She liked the Street Rod 750 except for the ridiculously fat tank and long reach to the drag bars. She sat on my Ninja 650R and said the fit is "much better!" Something about her hips being sore... I could almost see myself riding the Street Rod 750 with some rearsets and clubman bars. It makes the same power and torque as my 650, and it's finally an HD with a decent redline (9.000 RPM!!) Still weighs a shit-ton more though.

What I get up to when she's not around... breathing a bit more life into a dinosaur. AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ now with 8 GB of DDR2 800 MHZ (max for the motherboard) and a 250 GB SSD (in addition to the old 160 GB HDD) and Windows 10.
