Bent wheel

I bent this among the potholes on NF90/23 a couple weeks ago and will probably mount a new tire as is. The bead looks fine, it's just the upper lip. However, is there a business around PDX area that fixes slight bends on mc wheels?

WASCO Frame in Tacoma does. Don't know if that's too far from PDX tho.

Wasco Frame Service

FWIW, I'd just leave it though. I had a wheel that was bent in similar fashion but worse and it was fine.

Piece of 2x4 and a big hammer works pretty good.

Thanks Pete! Sometimes I over think things. I set it down on 2x4's, heated that part of the rim up and used another small piece of 2x4 to straighten it.

you can not safely heat and beat on a cast wheel...you would replace a helmet with such damage...heating will weaken that spot...beating on it will introduce micro-fracturing...hitting another pot hole will likely shatter that wheel...heck a good wheelie could shatter that wheel...it's your life..take your chances...like that helmet that's been dropped..it will work well until........
