Question Barber Motorsports Museum

I may go to BMM in June and I see that they're only open about 8 hours. Is this enough time to really see everything or does one really need to spend more time there? I'm the sort of person that likes to read almost everything and take my time at museums. Is it worth it to get the guided tour they offer?

That's an amazing museum - went there twice in years past - rotating exhibits so each time was different.

Skip the guided tour.

I read many things (not all) and got around in 4-5 hours. If you did every single thing, it will take you longer.

Both times I was there Porsche had a amateur race training course on, and watching the cars bale down the hill at the museum corner through the giant plate glass window was great ambiance!

Enjoy your visit.

Thanks. Anything else in BH you thought was worth visiting if I'm there for another day?

I don't know that city very well; was living in Atlanta at the time (2-hr drive), and day-tripped over to see the museum a couple times. Also, did my first ever track day at Barber. (another day trip).

If you're there another day, Mobile is a pretty interesting city to visit. The downtown's cool - great food, jazz clubs, etc. You can also visit Ft. Morgan (Civil War fort), and the USS Alabama (battleship) is there, too.

That will be incredible and definitely on my bucket list. Have you ever heard of the Brothers car collection in Salem? They have some of the rarest muscle cars on the planet, you can see them at Muscle Car of the Week on Youtube. They also have some Euro cars and bikes as well.

I heard a rumor they may open it to the public some day.

I have watched a couple of those videos, but haven't seen the shop.

Never heard of a car collection in Salem. There's Marymount, and the LeMay museum in Tacoma, World of Speed in Wilsonville and a few smaller collection are the state, but nothing in Salem that I'm aware of.

I was there about a year ago. Keep meaning to post some crappy pics, but have not gotten around to it. You'll need all eight hours. I was there for about five and walked fast through some exhibits. Not sure about the guided tour though.
