  Poor Tortured

  2015 Kawasaki Concours 14 - The Origame Sea-Dragon
ABS Test - SAT

Lolly-gagging through Belfair on the way to Hoodsport.

Taking it easy in 4th gear along the water and a van pulls out in front of me.

I musta been looking at a squirrel or something.....

I look down and "Whoa Hey THAT's Pretty Close!"

Single finger on the front lever Pulled it pretty hard. Had time to modulate it as the distance closed and I pulled a bit harder to increase decel rate to < crash_value=1.

I felt the ABS kick in. Super smooth. No pulsing. It almost felt like the front tire went over a slippery patch and skidded, which it didn't. I squeezed hard enough to lock it up and the ABS relaxed it to correct my fuckup.

So, IMO

1) Lolly-gagging and squirrel-watching are a bad idea.
2) Spend the money on ABS.

Great brakes on that Connie.

Thanks Kawasaki!

And that is what ABS is for, the safety valve for when you fork everything up and the bike saves itself from you.

I call it the "Miley Cyrus" stop, when the world goes to hell and you are screaming inside your helmet like a Miley Cyrus fan.

Awesome! This is exactly what ABS is for. I don't care how skilled you are, nobody is at 100%, 100% of the time. ABS is for those times when you're not.
