I used to ride Hagg lake a lot when I lived in Hillsboro, a decently fun road if you can avoid the rangers.
Out of curiosity, how is Hagg lake near Newberg? lol

I never worry about the rangers. Most of them cant site you and if they can its basically just parking. I worry about 5-0. We come from Salem so we go through Bald Peak and Newberg through the backroads. Its close, I swear.

Close enough, lol.

If you haven't already you should check out Timber Rd next time you're out there. It's a fun run out and back from Forest Grove. It may be pretty wet now though. Lots of parts are heavily wooded and don't see much sun even in the summer.

It varies a bit depending on where you are, but most park rangers could cite you for speeding, they are fully sworn federal law enforcement officers and can usually also enforce local laws. Don't know how often they would bother though. It does seem like the feds have a much higher success rate in court than local municipalities though when people try to fight it.

I used to work at champoeg state park as an assistant park ranger. We only had one staff member who could site and he was usually running a back hoe somewhere. Seems odd they would be federal. Seems like we are talking about different situations.

Just be careful out there. There are a couple super tight turns very close to each other and they will sneak up on you.

It's late and I'm tired, so you'll have to explain what you mean? [emoji848]
