Help me Choose a Cruiser
I'm looking for a daily ride for work. I'm interested in a reasonably comfortable ride and am looking at cruisers.

All of my riding experience has been on sport bikes (600RR and Hayabusa), so I'm not as well-versed in what is available in terms of cruisers.

Looking for a used bike in perfect running condition. I'd like to spend around $8000 or less. I don't have any brand loyalties; just interested best bang for my buck.

I like the look of the Victory and Indian models. Also, it's probably relevant that I'm 6'4 and around 270 lbs.

Doing a lot of research on my own, but figured it would be good to hear your experiences and suggestions as well.

Do you want a full dress or naked cruiser? How about displacement, 500, 650, 750, 900 or ??

A naked cruiser with 650+. I don't need anything monstrous, but I do like to know there is power there when I need it.

The Victories fit tall guys best. You'll love the 106 motor. I have a Octane that you can get extended reach pegs and bars for. But the bigger 106 motor cruisers would suit you better. Especially the models with floorboards.

Heres one in Lynwood in your price range

Cliffs in Bremerton has a number of Victories in stock

I really like my Yamaha Fjr, 1300 cc of smooth power, bags if you want them and if you want sport cruiser bags come of in about one minute, it makes one hell of a sport cruiser, very comfortable and you can buy them very reasonable, tons of accessories available, should take one for a ride they fit large guys as well.

^^^ The FJR is a sport tourer, not a cruiser. I came from a long line of cruisers, and now ride a FJR...very little in common between the two different styles of bikes.

To the OP: Check out the Kawasaki Vulcan 900, either the Custom 900 or the Classic 900, depending on your styling preferences. Good power, long wheelbase so is ideal for taller riders, and is $8000 for brand-new 2017s.

That's a lot of bike for a guy who has only ridden a busa. :D

My brother in law is "large framed and fluffy" and he loves his Victory bagger, both for local operations and long distance.
