Well I got Me some HOG!

Stocks, not the bikes.....,not yet...., maybe. So I swung by Destination HD and took a look at the new redesigned 2018 models. To see what my investment was putting out. Besides looking at new bikes is one of my favorite things to do on my Birthday!!
Many may not agree (this IS HD hating PNW) but the new softtails (not what HD calls them) all are sweet looking rides.
I mainly wanted to sit test the Electra Glide Ultra Classic as a possible replacement for the Venture. Found it to be a small rider triangle. The floorboards and handlebars are much closer than My Venture and the Indian Roadmaster. Nice thing about HD is I can test ride it as soon as we have a dry day!
I will also see it I can ride the new Fat Bob (see Hot New Harley thread.) I found it even more desirable in person than print. I could easily see selling the Octane for one in the future.
All in all I believe this will be a profitable short term investment. HD sells a bunch of fresh models to the believers and lands many new buyers and I make 20% on my money. Thats the plan anyway.;)

I hope for all our sake's you're right, but the motorcycle industry is currently in a financial nose dive.

I had a 2007 Ultra Classic. That thing was a pleasure to take out to the desert, hit cruise control, turn up the stereo, put my feet up onto the highway bars, and steer by leaning (look, ma. no hands).

But it was a PITA at all other times.

Bikes are like shoes.

Yep. As long as they match your European Man Bag, you'll look fabulous.

Yeah, missed the ride on Polaris stock after they dumped Victory(up 20 percent). Was too busy hating on Polaris to think of it as a possible opportunity, lol.
Was mainly taking profit from Amazon and putting it in a consumer stock that was down with a forecasted likely rise in value. If it's up 8-12 in 6 months+ I'll move on to my brokers next suggestion or get out and wait out the likely correction sometime soon.....,

my millennial kids give no shits about cars or motorcycles. those things are appliances to them. the Auto-Man's time has come, I am afraid. Now it's just a matter of watching the slide. Perhaps it is fate. The Gasoline Age has got to end just on the thermodynamics. Entropy is (which is a weird idea).

i think motoorcycles as a thing is going to get boutique and niche.

this aint a new idea.

Meanwhile, out on the farm...

That is funny! There has been a new 'rat bike' hard tail panhead HD at work lately. I was in the can and a guy in HD logo gear I had not seen before was primping in the mirror. I was feeling generous that day so did not make a comment on his 'tavern bike' or him making sure he looked 'fab-U-luss' for the ride home. I wanted to though... I really wanted to...;)

If you are looking for an arbitrary monthly sales report to get excited about, then you must really like Royal Enfield. :p

Edit to add: I just want to spend more time this year riding the bikes I have now.

The Royal Enfield 650 twins should be in the US soon. If you have to have 'the most HP' they will not interest you, but I am looking forward to sitting on one. I like everything I have seen so far.
