I think they could make the exhaust bigger.

Shucks, I guess that I'm in the minority here just being happy with the bikes that I got now. I mean, all of my bikes are farkled in one way or another. Most have aftermarket windshields, all have custom seats. Have added cruise control (note: not throttle locks!) heated grips, bags, top cases, etc etc. Anything else I buy I would have to do the same for them too.

I just had to buy tags for nine vehicles the other day. Nine. And other than my trailers all are insured and that cost big bucks every year too.

Would I like to have other bikes? Sure. A 1968 Triumph Bonneville be cool. Or a 1967 BMW R27. Maybe a 1969 Kawasaki Mach III or a 1970 Norton Commando. But a new 2017 new anything? Naw. I'm good. Funny how that works.

Totally agree with this.

Plus, add Power Commanders, Exhaust, Dyno time, LED lights, Fender Eliminators, Lowered pegs, etc. etc. All stuff you will never get your time or money back.

AND, the biggest issue: CRAP resale! I have difficulty laying out MSRP for a new bike, and then taking it up the a$$ on resale.

For example, I own a 2009 Gixxer 1000, (among others). Great bike, low mileage, Yosh 4-1, etc. etc. etc. I'd be lucky to get $8K for it. Is the 2017 Gixxer THAT much better to take on close to a $10K loan? Plus the '09 is paid for, costs me nothing to own.

Here's another little secret which isn't discussed much: It's getting harder and harder to defeat emissions. Euro-4 is bad news. Dynojet seems to be pulling back and shrinking after their tussle with CARB. Exhaust co's. are pressured to enforce 'race only' pipe sales, and riders could be fined if they are stopped and inspected by the po-po. Many bike manufacturers are making it much harder or impossible to flash their ECU's. All thanks to your lovely little a$$-wipe legislators. Of course new bikes still put out great power. But older bikes may become sought after if they are easily modified.

There are bikes I'd like to TRY OUT, but none that I'm willing to take on 3-4 years of payments for. These would include Ducati Panigale 1299, Kawasaki H2, new Ducati Diavel, BMW S1000RR, Yamaha R1, KTM Superduke, Aprilia V-4 Tuono, maybe Honda VFR1200X with dual clutch. So if anybody wants to loan me your bike for a few hours, I'd be happy to flip you a couple hunnerd bucks. And of course if anything happens, I guess I just bought a new bike.

If money wasn't an issue, the 2017 CBR100RR.

Of course I already have payments and just bought a house... so no new bike for me.

Was saving up for the new 2017 GSX-R 1k, but after lowsiding my 06 1k at over 100mph at the track plus Suzuki delaying the new one... I got this instead. It is technically a 2017

And yes, I cross shopped a gixxer and Panigale

Ah, thanks guys, that reminds me that I want to check out the Diavel and the S1kr. I've been looking at the Aprilia RSV-4 also.

There are SO MANY bikes that I would love to have. I went through all of this a few months ago. I shopped and shopped, deciding what I wanted most at the time. I had enough cash aside for the H2, but that much would buy some combos of 2 of the other bikes. Well, I ended up just going for the H2, and am super happy I did, BUT, I still want the others. I will just have to work it out to get them later. Maybe this year at some point I will be able to shop and decide on one more. Then I will spend day after day researching and deciding

RustyDust, I hate that. DMV and insurance love us!! We are down to 5 motorcycles, a boat, a toy hauler, 2 cars, a truck, a van and a jeep. Oh, and 3 quads (no dmv, but OHV permits and insurance). We actually just recently sold one boat and a bike.

Love having the toys and enjoying life, but wow, maintenance, etc SO much. Wife likes it all and some are her's, but she hates all of the outgoing $. On top of that, I like to do some upgrades, etc, and just dropped a bike the other day costing $1000 in repairs.

I will be selling the FJR1300AE.

What stops me from buying the Tiger is the lack of a Triumph dealer within 70miles of East Olympia. Sad since the first Triumph dealer of the current era was in Olympia many years ago.

Steve
East Olympia --> Gorst Triumph dealer = 59.1 miles per MapQuest.

No longer a Triumph dealer. Primarily a used bike supermarket now, with some new Huskies.

Well, shucks, when did that happen?

I kinda wanted to go have a look at the new Bobber once it arrives.
