It is absolutely 100% unequivocally my fathers fault. I mean come on, look at the bike I race! |
A lot of the previous, like Naza said I grew up in the '70's and watched Evil Knievel as kids we all had kit mini bikes. But the real addiction started when my I chopped a chord of wood in trade for a Honda XL 350 on Whidby Island. There was no turning back. |
Ever since I saw one I wanted to ride them. It took a friends enthusiastic encouragement to finally get me going. Then I was hooked. Couldn't ride enough. The freedom and exhilaration can't be replaced. Discovering group riding has been an amazing experience! I now have many awesome friends that I would never have met if it were not for riding motorcycles. |
I don't know what started the love. As far back as I can remember I dreamed of getting a motorcycle to ride. Maybe it was my neighbor friend that got a Honda 70 when I was in kindergarten. I have never been very mechanically enclined, but just always wanted to ride. |
I love Motorcycles for the same reason i love guns; They force me to relax, empty my mind of worries and or distractions, focus my mind on the task at hand be it the correct positioning for the next corner. If its a road i know i am thinking 5 corners ahead to carry my speed through, each corner setting up for the next one. For me it is one of the best antidepressants out there. |
I love riding my bicycle. Just that I hate the pedal part of it. Hence motorcycles! |
The freedom you feel while riding, I love traveling and no better way to do it than on two wheels which lets you be more of what your seeing. The thrill of doing corners at faster than any car can do them at. The experiences you have, and people you meet riding that other wise would have never talked to you if you weren't on a motorcycle.:p |
Throughout my teens, my mother threatened to "disown" me if I ever rode a motorcycle. No idea why she had such an obsession about it, I had never expressed an interest. Her protesting planted a seed though. We never really got along, but I respected that one desire. She passed away a some years ago, and after that the seed grew and I ended taking the skills course on a whim. After that I was hooked. |
When I was about 10, I remember pushing my bike to the top of the hill, I was never strong enough to peddle it there, the short trip down the hill and around the corner was worth pushing the bike back up the hill again and again. It was the only time I remember feeling free and happy. Fast forward several years, my dad told me "don't get on the back of his bike" guess how that ended. Honestly, I think I have the worst case of catrastrophizing ever, every time I get on my bike I wonder if today is the day I am going to die. Then I feel the wind in my hair, the freedom, and the power to climb every hill, and I don't want to stop. |

Something that I always liked watching growing up. Then when my friend got one, I had to get one. Since then I've been hooked. |
It's the closest to flying I've ever got. And I don't mean airplanes. |

I was seven years old. I got off of my bicycle and onto my best friend's Honda CR 60. He briefly told me how to use the clutch and the throttle. Twisting the throttle to go fast was just so much easier than pedaling. I remember thinking "I should have had this sooner." |
