Hats off to NBCSN for showing commercial free MOTOGP racing and World Superbike! Great racing this year, impressed with Suzuki in MOTOGP

Just a weird year for MotoGP. Remove Marc from the picture and the whole thing goes bonkers. Consistency is non-existent. The guy who wins one race, could be out of the top ten the next race. Even someone as normally consistent as Dovi is all over the board. KTM is now a podium contender and even Aprillia has been up there at times. Up until his three DNFs and Covid, Rossi was the only one of the "Old Guard" that seemed to know how to race every weekend.

This season is more interesting iMHO. Having one guy always win gets boring, I almost didn't renew this season.

Now if only MA and WSBK were a little more chaotic...

Agreed. But the complete inconsistency makes these guys look like amateurs. I love tight racing, but I prefer to see guys battling to see who can win, rather than who can lose. I mean, just this past race. The guy dominates the time sheets all weekend, gets pole, and then tosses it on the second corner. That's a rookie mistake. Moto3 and Moto2 are so much better. Heck, the Repsol CEV races are about the best ones out there.

I have not been keeping track. Was there a rule change that prompted the chaos, or just no ‘Super Talented’ specific riders?

Agreed about the inconsistency.
I've been enjoying the heck out of Moto3 this year.

No rule change. Just no Marc. But without Marc, Honda has been forced to make changes to the bike, and they are getting more competitive. But I have no clue why everyone else is struggling to maintain any consistency. The guy leading the championship hasn't even won a race.

Michelin has developed a new rear tire causing all the chaos for teams. Not sure why it hasn't gotten more media attention, but that's the main reason for all the inconsistency.

I LOVE the inconsistency! I’m actually getting up at 5am on Sundays to watch the GP race live this year because who knows what is going to happen. This has been the most exciting season for me since I started watching in 12’. I gave up on WSBK because of Rea (even if he is a badass) because it got boring. I do seem to give F1 a pass regarding the same winners most of the time though, but I’ve been watching that since I was a little kid in the 80’s.

Wow...someone actually started a MotoGP thread? Too bad no one but one dude knows what they're talking about. Tires, ambient and track temperatures, the same track in back to back weekends, Europe only tracks, new tire manufacturer, extremely talented riders, new electronics, new aerodynamics, veteran riders having to re-learn and un-learn older riding habits...shit, so many things going on in MotoGP..it's been awesome. IMHO, NBC has done a credible job so far (only 3 races left), they ditched that weirdo British announcer working with Ben Bostrom (Ben was just OK, seemed very nervous), and thankfully have not utilized the "skills" of one Greg White who calls MotoAmerica races (poorly, I might add. Dude is horrrrible), and most, if not all, races have been commercial free. Though this last Aragon race had a commercial break early in the race, it's been the standard Euro announcers, and they are far and away the best in the world. Not having MM has been a blessing for me..I"m sick and tired of the same dude winning every race. I'd love to see Vale win again, but his majesty went and got himself the Vid... Dovi is not adapting to the new tire, Quartararo is not quite ready for prime time, the Suzuki's are back with a vengeance (Joan Mir might win the title without having won a race), Top Guns inability to live up to his hype, Ducati's struggling with traction, MM's little brother coming on strong all of a sudden, no race winner from Honda, Yamaha's down on HP...shit, it's been great, Ima miss it this winter. Nothing else decent to watch...

Same manufacturer, but different tire construction.

Same tire manufacturer, same aero packages. Electronics change every year. Back to back tracks should encourage consistency. If you're fast at a track the first race, then you should be fast the second. But that's not happening. The only time it happened was at the first two round at Jerez, same winner and same second place. After that it's all over the place. Win one week, place outside the top ten the next. You might be able to tie that to the tire, but not that much this late in the season.

Seems like Dovi is not a fan of the new construction.

When MM got hurt, I picked Dovi for the championship.

That's why I don't gamble.
