Could be it needs a jet kit or it could be it is pulling air in at the head pipe. If it needs a tune take it to Nel's when he pops down there.

Aftermarket exhaust and any form of secondary air will make the pop, it's just more noticeable with louder pipes.

When I added a Yoshi to my GSX I ended up just plugging the hose that supplied the secondary air...popping went away.

If. I turn on my map gas torch not lit lol just the gas on. And run it around the exhauest no chamge in idle so no leaks. But if i run it by the card boots idle increase a little bit for a few secs then backs down. Maybe have a leak there?

Check at the cylinder. We had one where the exhaust cracked right at the flange by the cylinder.

Good guess. Run that gas past the carbs' intake as well, just to check on the change there too. If the idle mix is set right, then that whiff of added gas should make the mixture a little too rich; slowing the idle some for just a moment. If it idles better, than the idle mixture is lean.

As a rule of thumb; when changing to a more free-flowing exhaust, it's hard to go wrong by going one step larger on the pilot jet.

In any case, take a good, long look at those intake boots and clamps.

It only revs up a tiny bit by the boots nothing else changes no change by the header bolts etc. I am thinking it just needs 2 be re jetted.
