Ugh. Check your adjustors and anything else that can be messed with

There are a lot of randos around who just like to mess with things. My latest is about 3 days ago I thought my bike was riding like shit, tracking weirdly on hard over turns, not dealing with rough pavement and transmitting a lot of nasty road feel to the butt sensor. It also felt strangely low. Did some bounce and wiggle checks this morning, and found it after a few minutes.

Of course what happened is some dickwad saw the big knob and cranked it all the way back, completely eliminating preload.

There's a lot of this sort of thing. There's someone, probably a nearby employee with a nicotine habit, who always switches on the built-in taillight on my bicycle seat when I park it in a particular place. My wife's bicycle has a quick-release adjustor on the seat post and every time she comes out of Trader Joe's some wag has always raised her seat by about a foot. (She never actually adjusts or takes away her seat so I replaced it with an allen bolt.)

So, not a bad idea to give your ride a once over, including settings that you never change before taking it out on any scary roads so you don't find out the hard way it's been fucked with.

Raising the seat on your wife’s bike was probably a friendly warning...

I had a bike stolen a few months back which was right next to my motorcycle. My motorcycle is parked outside 24/7 right next to my neighbor who hates me

I went on a mission and got my bicycle back!

Thanks for the reminder,.... I was actually looking over my bike today pretty good before I left for work. My neighbor is a lunatic.

Well, according to Ienatsch (instructor, preacher extraordanaire), we should ALL be thoroughly checking our bikes before EVERY ride. I aint here to preach, and I know most aint as lucky as meself to be able to park my bike in a garage or a secure place at work, but like Vincent Vega from Pulp Fiction; "it'd be worth the dude fuckin with my ride if I caught him". Fuck with my ride, and I fuck with your family tree and crap bark dust on you. Easy to be tough on the inter-webs
