Solvents and Caliper seals

Hey guys I'm getting ready to paint my calipers and a lot of the prep methods out there involve paint thinner or another solvent.

Does anyone know if paint thinner can harm the seals in the caliper? Thanks

You know you can look this stuff up on the internet, right? Caliper seals are generally made from SBR or EPDM synthetic rubber and neither one is rated as very resistant to paint thinner.

Thanks for the info. I don't know enough about chemistry to know the right keywords so I wouldn't have found that page in a thousand googles.
