Fork repair/rebuild after wreck.

I have a new to me 03 YZF600R Thundercat is need of some fork TLC..
As usual PO threw it under a truck.

Left leg is bent.. not just a little.
Right leg.. it broke.. I'm looking at spring here.

I am going to assume the trees are well and truly borked too.

So the 99 cent question

I don't see any obvious signs of damage on the lowers..

Do you think I could get away with new stanchion tubes and trees?
That is assuming the internal components check out and I can straighten the damper adjustment rods.

Are the Chinese $120/pair stanchion tubes on ebay garbage or worth looking at?

Or am I better off buying and rebuilding a used ebay set.. Best set I've found so far is $250 not including trees.

I know the "upgrade to USD" camp is going to chime in.. I've looked and the only option I see that will allow me to keep the mechanical speedo is 95-96 FZR1000 USD forks.

Could this be a match made under a truck?!?

Oooh exciting.

Well the repair questions are a moot point now..
I was looking at what all I'd need for the FZR swap on Ebay.
There on the bay was a fresh listing for YZF600r forks at a good price with free shipping so I snagged em. Same place had the lower trees for $20 so I got them too.
ZXtasy likes this.

gah.. ebay left fork upper is bent about 1/4" tip to seal.... going back..

Chinese tubes are looking kinda tempting right now.
