ANOTHER 10R trackfighter project...

Yeah, I just can't leave well enough alone.

This time I've got a track-prepped 08 ZX-10R. My plan is to swap out the bars, controls, tail section, and remove bulk wherever I can (other than me). I'll relocate the ignition and gauges, shave down the triple, and install some LED light pods for the occasional slick-clad foray into the mean streets of Snohomish county.

What I started with:

Stripped and ready for some selective saw and dremel work:

Current mods list:
Traxxion AK-20 Cartridges, Penske 8987 Shock, Attack clipons, CRG levers, Vortex rearsets, GPR steering damper, Woodcraft case savers, Yoshimura R-55, Power Commander V, EBC HH brake pads, Pirelli Superbike SC2 slicks, Cox radiator guard, Motovation frame sliders, and some shitty fairings

Parts to be installed:
Acerbis KX250 Front number plate, RSV4 race tail, Apex adjustable riser clipons, Spiegler +3" braided steel lines, combo LED tail/brake/signal strip, LED front signal strips, VisionX LED cubes for headlight, ignition relocation

For reference, this is the blasphemy I commited last time. Going for a similar look.
I turned this:

Into this:

I'd say that I'm excited to see this, but I think that's the wrong word.

What do you call that feeling that happens right before you throw up?

I really liked what you did with your old ZX10R. That was a sharp bike that struck a good line between a clean factory look and a righteous street fighter. What ever happened with that thing?

This is something that I've been wanting to do as well. I'd really love to do it to the 08+ CBR1000RR. That wide frame that wraps around the engine just looks good out in the open.

I sold it to one of our instructors, who promptly ruined it with GP shift and fucking TRACTION CONTROL. Goddamned freedom-hating terrorist.

If I remember correctly the 06 was 408 fully fueled. I can ask Jason.

My "physique", while in no way aerodynamic, tends to resist lift pretty well.

Some mild progress today.

Installed Apex adjustable riser clip-ons (which are a bear to align properly), Spiegler brake lines, CRG levers, lever guards, Spider grips

Milled the ignition mount off the triple to facilitate a tight gauge mounting.

Began the relocation of electronics under the seat to prep the subframe for cutting down. Removed the exhaust servo and installed a servo eliminator.

RSV4 race tail came in. Removed the second subframe and it fits on relatively well. I'll just need to fabricate some mounts so the tail can be bolted on.

It's just sitting on there. No mounts yet.

And it's absolutely not going to be easy. I have to build everything to mount it by hand. I sure hope no one tries pushing it with the tail!
