Tig welding on the bike with high frequency I need to put my exhaust header back together (crash damage repair) I plan to tack it up bolted on the bike to be sure it all lines up correctly. Question is will the high frequency start on the TIG screw up the ECU on the bike? (2003 YZF-600R) I'd disconnect the battery but I still worry about it. |
Most likely it won't be an issue but if it's that big a concern to you just pull the ECU. |
I'd take a few minutes and disconnect the battery, ecu, dash, abs, regulator rectifier, and pull all the fuses. Ground close to the weld. Any chance you can mig it instead? Sent via SCH-I545 |
Typically, if you disconnect the battery as a precaution then it shouldn't bother the ECU. Sent via iPhone |
Lots of electromagnetic waves all around. Even a wire detached at one end can be an antenna. |
Keep all credit and bank cards, cell phones, computers, microwaves, pacemakers and digital watches away. dont forget to unmount the tv and blu-ray player from your handlebars and shut off all circuit breakers in your house. call your power company to cut power to nearby lines. sorry, went a lil overboard..... |
I've decided the best option is to wrap the entire bike in aluminum foil. Make a foil hat and hide in my moms basement. Best to not be signaling the aliens and NSA with my welding frequencies. Crap, has it been 3 months? I aint done shit. |
